Montane Garden Mulch™ (formerly Alpine Garden Mulch)
MULCHING: When using as a mulch apply product evenly at a depth less than 2” (50mm) and greater than 1” (25mm). The proper depth will depend on vegetation type, vegetation density and maturity of vegetation. Not to be used in areas exposed to high winds.

AMENDMENT/SOIL ADDITIVE: When using as a soil amendment, apply product at a depth less than 1” (25mm) and incorporate/till into the top 6” (mm) to 10” (mm) of topsoil. An addition of a 10-0-0 fertilizer may be required to balance the C:N ratio, this can be added immediately at a rate of 1lb per 100sqm.

COMPOST FEEDSTOCK: When using as a compost feedstock, do not apply quantities that will result in a Carbon to Nitrogen (C:N) ratio higher than 40:1. Be aware of moisture content BEFORE and AFTER the addition of Garden Mulch. Porosity may change and a bulking agent may be required depending on other compost feedstocks. As a compost feedstock Garden Mulch will help deter offensive odors created during composting. Garden Mulch is high in organic matter, which will result in a higher quality compost.

These are general guidelines and directions for use, which do not take into consideration site-specific conditions. When using as a soil amendment/additive, a sample of the soil to be amended should be tested and analyzed by a professional.
